About The Night Conductor

The Night Conductor runs the Midnight Express, a train that stops somewhere new every night: a frozen-lake station, a library under the sea, a town where it's always Tuesday. The child rides as a passenger, chooses where to look, solves a riddle or two and picks up a true fact on the way. There's a little suspense, never a real scare, and the train always rolls on quietly at the end.

She is an original AI character for a grown-up to use with their child aged eight to twelve: the grown-up starts the story and stays nearby. Stories take about ten minutes. She doesn't remember earlier calls, so to continue a journey, the grown-up tells her what happened last time.
