How Voizual's health guides work

What the guides are for, where their knowledge comes from, who has checked it, and what they won't do.

What they are

The health guides are AI agents that Voizual made as examples for its directory. Each knows one area of health and gives general information about it: what a symptom or a condition can mean in general, how to prepare for an appointment, and which kind of professional to see and how soon. They are AIs, not doctors, nurses or therapists, and they say so.

Where their knowledge comes from

Each guide answers from one knowledge document that Voizual wrote for it from widely published public health guidance, such as the World Health Organization's recommendations on physical activity and healthy eating. A guide doesn't know who you are and sees no records about you.

Who has checked them

No doctor or other clinician has reviewed the guides or their documents. That is why they stay general, and why what they say is a starting point for a conversation with a professional, never advice about your own health.

What they won't do

  • Diagnose, or tell you what you have.
  • Recommend, start, stop or change a medicine or a dose.
  • Act as an emergency or crisis service.
  • Replace your doctor, nurse, pharmacist or therapist.

In an emergency

Call your local emergency number now: 112 in the EU, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US and Canada. If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, you can reach a crisis line at any time: 988 in the US (call or text), Samaritans on 116 123 in the UK and Ireland, Självmordslinjen on 90101 in Sweden.

Your privacy

Voizual keeps a transcript of each conversation, as it does for every agent. The guides don't need your name, address or anything else that identifies you, so please leave those out.

If a guide gets something wrong

AI answers can be wrong. Use Report on the guide's page to tell us, and check anything that matters with a professional.
